IPB Group has developed the PiP (Pipe in Pipe) system which consists of overlapping tubes in order to coat the outside pipes to minimize heat exchange with the external environment.
The IPB system consists of tubes that are coated with two tubular layers, with the second-tier over the first, thus getting higher insulation coefficient compared to regular insulation systems on the market.
Another important feature of the “PiP” system is the presence of the longitudinal groove in the second layer which has three main functions:
- Easy to repair external layer;
- Ensures the equalization of pressure between environments, avoiding the “embolism” (pressure confined between two layers of coating)
- Provide a source of heat by heating the fluid that enters the groove by the pressure difference
In October 2010 IPB-GR included in scope of the ISO 9001 certification the service of thermal insulation coating, certified by ABNT – Brazilian Association of Technical Standards.
